ANNA FAUR

“Anna Faur was born in 1978 in Budapest, Hungary. At the age of 14 she spent a year in a youth correction institution in Hungary. She studied Sociology and Mathematics at ELTE University in Budapest.
In 2000 she was accepted into the Hungarian Academy of Drama and Film as a director. She also had an interest in cinematography so in addition to directing she took cinematography courses. During film school she made several short films and documentaries. She has participated in numerous feature films in Hungary as an assistant director or assistant camera. She had the chance to work, with among others, Miklos Jancso, Peter Greenaway, Kornel Mundruczo, etc. She also worked as second unit camera operator beside various Hungarian cinematographers.
Right after completing her studies Anna made her first feature film .GIRLS.. The film is based on a true story that took place in 1997 in Budapest in which two 14-year old girls killed a taxi driver. .Girls. opened in Hungarian cinemas at the end of 2007. Since then Anna has been working on her second feature film project Transit of Venus: the story of four women from various generation and social origins.”
