“Babak Jalali was born in Gorgan, Iran in September 1978 and has lived in London since 1986. He completed a BA Degree East European Studies and an MA in Politics, from University College, London. He is a recent graduate of the London Film School and his graduation film, ‘Heydar, An Afghan in Tehran’, was nominated for a BAFTA in the Best Short Film Category 2006 and screened at over 35 film festivals worldwide.
He is currently developing his first feature script, ‘From Here…(Frontier Stories)’, which is a story of bandits, minstrels, illegal fishing, old men, chicken farms and the sea. It is set in and around his hometown on the Northern Iranian frontier.”
