Bohdana SMYRNOVA

Bohdana Smyrnova Almost half of her life ago Bohdana Smyrnova started her career as a film maker in Soviet Ukraine capital of Kyiv. Since then her films have been screened at more than 200 festivals around the world including French theatrical release and prestigious festivals such as Rotterdam, Clermont-Ferrand, Taipei Golden Horse, and Slamdance. A filmmaker with a distinct voice, through her stories Bohdana explores complex human relationships, desires conflicting with reality, and situations that pose no right choice. A winner of more than 15 awards, Bohdana earned her MFA in Film Production at New York University. She is currently preparing for her first feature film to be shot in 2012 both in Chernivtsi, Ukraine and New York, USA.
