Dominga SOTOMAYOR

Dominga Sotomayor Dominga was born in Santiago de Chile in 1985. In 2007 she finished her direction studies at the Universidad Católica de Chile. That same year she received a scholarship, allowing her to complete a Masters in Film Direction at the ESCAC, Barcelona. She has directed the short-films Cessna (2005), Noviembre (2007), Debajo (2008), La Montaña (2008) and Videojuego (2009), which have been shown and won awards in both national and international festivals such as Rotterdam, Sao Paulo, Biarritz and Toulouse. She was selected to participate in the 7th Berlinale Talent Campus. De Jueves a Domingo (Thursday Through Sunday), is her first feature film. The project was supported in its development phase by Hubert Bals Fund and the Chilean funds CORFO and Fondo de Fomento Audiovisual. She has participated in the Bafici BAL ’09 and won the “Biarritz Rencontres des jeunes réalisateurs” as well as the Co-production Meetings in IFF Valdivia. The project is a family journey to northern Chile. It’s the chidren’s distant and fragmented outlook of their final trip together.
