Emilie Atef is half french half Iranian, and was born in Berlin. Atfer living in California, France and later in London to work in the Theatre Emily finally settled down in Berlin where she studied directing at the DFFB (German Film Academy) since autumn 2001. In 2002 she made a documentary‚ XX to XY: fighting to be Jake. The film was screened in more than 40 international film festivals winning a few awards. In 2005 she directed her first feature film in Poland Molly’s way shown in many festivals recieving 11 international awards. She is now finishing her diploma film as well as writing her next feature film. Töte Mich ( Kill Me), a road-movie going from Germany through France, about a girl who wants to die and a man who has accidently killed, both have grown up in a world with little hope, and through this difficult but growing friendship they start to see another side of life. ‘Töte Mich’ will be produced by Wüste Film.
