“Fien Troch was born in 1978 and grew up in a small village near Brussels (Belgium). She graduated in 2000 from the Belgian art and film school Sint Lukas in Brussels. During this 4 years period she writes and directs 3 shortfilms, Verbrande aarde, Wooww and Maria. All three of them are shown on several festivals all over the world and win several awards. She start writing her first feature film ‘Someone else’s happiness’ and directed another shortfilm for children ‘Sam and Suzy’. After 4 years Fien starts shooting her feature and ‘Someone else ‘s happiness’ starts an international festival tour and wins awards in Thessaloniki, Angers, Salerno and Taipei.
Today Fien is writing her second feature film ‘The unspoken’, about a couple that tries to continue their daily life after the disappearance of their daughter. This is a struggle where love and loneliness try to fight the past. ”
