Kamila ANDINI

Kamila Andini was born in Jakarta, May 6th 1986. She studied Sociology and Media Arts at Deakin University, Australia. Kamila had a passion for diving and photography, she began filming documentaries and short movies following her interest in the environment. Her first feature film, “The Mirror Never Lies”, portrays the life of a sea wanderer in the Indonesian ocean. The film was screened at the Busan and Berlinale International Film Festivals as well as 20 others Film Festival around the world. The film recieved many awards including the Earth Grand Prix Award at the Tokyo International Film Festival, FIPRESCI award at the Hong Kong International Film Festival, and several Special Mention Awards in Cinemanila, Taipei, and the Tokyo International Film Festival. Kamila is now  developing her second feature film “The Seen and Unseen”. The project also has  financial support from the Hubert Bals Fund from the International Film Festival Rotterdam, Asia Pacific Screen Awards Children Film Fund, and she was the recipient of the Wouter Barendrecht Awards 2012 from the Fortissimo Foundation at the Hong Kong Asian Financing Forum.
