Laura ASTORGA CARRERA

Laura Astorga was born on June 1975 in San José, Costa Rica and was raised in Managua, La Habana, San José, Miami and Frankfurt. She studied cinema in specialized courses in Mexico, Costa Rica, Panamá, Cuba and Argentina. Her shortfilm “Ellas se aman” (“They love each other” premiered in Locarno Film Festival in 2008), followed a route of festivals in Paris, Santiago de Chile, Guatemala, Sao Paulo, San Francisco, Mar del Plata, Madrid, Torino, Bilbao, Milán and London. Laura Astorga has served as scriptwriter for TV series and she has directed short documentaries and has worked as trainer for camera and casting director for TV advertising spots and feature films. Her first Feature Film, Princesas Rojas (Red Princesses), is currently in postproduction, to be completed and released by the end of 2012 (autumn-winter 2012). Ngöbe is her new proyect. Ngöbe has assisted to courses of development in Nuevas Miradas V (EICTV, Havana International Film Festival) and TAREULA III (Miami).
