“Lucrecia MARTEL : Argentinean, born in 1966, Lucrecia Martel graduated from Avex (Avellaneda Experimental) in Buenos Aires. She directed one short film, Rey Muerto, hailed in several festivals, and a first feature film, La Cienaga, in official competition at the Berlin Film Festival in 2001. Her first film won the Critics’ Discovery Prize (Alfred Bauer Prize). Her second feature film is entitled La Nina Santa (The Holy Girl).
Post Residence: Her feature film project, La Niña Santa, produced by Lita Stantic, was screened in Official Competition at the 2004 Festival de Cannes (Cannes Film Festival) 2004. It was distributed in France by Pyramide in September of the same year.”
