Marianela MALDONADO

“Marianela Maldonado was born in 1972 in Venezuela. She moved to London in 1997 to study Screenwriting at the UK’s National Film and Television School from her homeland Venezuela, where she worked as a journalist and published two collections of short stories. She has written and directed three short films which have been screened at many international film festivals. Her graduation film “The Look of Happiness” screened at the Cinefondation section of the 2002 Cannes Film Festival; “Breaking Out” premiered at Critics’ Week in 2004, and won the Audience Award in Angers in 2005.
“In The Shadow of the Moon” is being developed with London-based production company Intrepido and will be Marianela’s debut feature film.”
