Maya DA-RIN

Born in 1979 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Maya Da-Rin studied Design and Philosophy of Art at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, as well as attended film workshops at the Cuban Film School. In 2010, she moved to France to take part at the Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains, where she graduated with honors; in 2012 she joined the master degree in Film and Art History at Sorbonne Nouvelle; and in 2013 she has been an artist in residence at the LABoral Art Center, in Spain. Her films and video installations have been shown and awarded at film festivals and art institutions such as Locarno, Leipzig, Toulouse, São Paulo Art Biennial, MoMA, New Museum of Contemporary Art and the Contemporary Art Centre of Vilnius. She is currently working at the Cinéfondation Residence on her first feature film, The Fever, which has been also selected for the Torino Script & Pitch Lab and awarded by the Hubert Bals Fund for script and development.
