Sam Holst

Born in Melbourne, Australia, Sam Holst studied Communications and Film at RMIT University. His short film Meathead premiered In Competition at the 64th Cannes Film Festival and was awarded the Crystal Bear for Best Short Film in Generation at the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival. He has undertaken directing actors’ master classes and workshops with both Judith Weston and Mark Travis at the Binger Film Lab in Amsterdam. While in residence at the Cinéfondation Holst will develop original feature screenplay Last Autumn: In the final months of 1999, when his wife falls ill and must move to hospital for treatment a father is left to care for his two young sons by himself.
