“Sameh ZOABI. Born and raised in Iksal, a Palestinian village near the city of Nazareth, Israel in 1975. In 1998, Zoabi graduated from Tel Aviv University with degrees in Film Studies and English Literature. The following year, Sameh was awarded a three-year merit scholarship, which he used to pursue a Master’s Degree at Columbia University in New York City. In February 2005, he completed his M.F.A. in Film Direction at Columbia’s School of the Arts.He has directed and wrote a few narrative short films. His last film Be Quiet (19 min.) 2005 is an award winning short film, including the Third Prize in the Cinefondation Selection at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival.
Sameh Zoabi is completing his first feature length script, James Dean and Me, a romantic drama set in a Palestinian village a few days before the 1967 Arab-Israeli war.”
