“Vimukthi JAYASUNDARA : Sri-Lankan (born in 1977), is author, film critic and screenwriter. He studied film directing at the Institute of Cinema and Television in Pune, India. After having made The Land of Silence (2001, 30′), a documentary on the victims of the civil war in Sri Lanka, Vimukthi was a student at the National Studio of Contemporary Arts, in Fresnoy, France, where he directed a short, Vide pour l’amour, selected by the Cinéfondation at the 2003 Festival de Cannes (Cannes Film Festival).
Post Residence: His project, developed at the Residence, La terre abandonnée (Sulanga Enu Pinisa), coproduced by Philippe Avril (Unlimited) was screened at “”Un Certain Regard”” and won the Golden Camera at the 2005 Festival de Cannes (Cannes Film Festival).”
