Vinko Tomičić (1987) grew up in the port-city of Coquimbo, Chile. After studying Sound engineering, he left for Argentina where he graduated as an Image and Sound Designer of the University of Buenos Aires. His first short film Durmiente was selected for various festivals such as Ficunam, Guadalajara, Cali, Sao Paulo and Vancouver. In 2014, he founded the Calamar Cine production company, which produced his debut feature El Fumigador (Cockroach) that won the "Best Film" award at the 2016 International Festival of Santiago de Chile, and "Best International Film" at BioBioCine and FADU Biennial, UBA in 2017. The film had its international premiere at the First Features Competition of the 20th PÖFF Tallinn Black Nights International Film Festival in Estonia. He teaches screenwriting in various Latin America countries with his "La Incubadora Fílmica" education project. He is currently working on his new feature film Perros, selected at Venice Biennale College Cinema, EAVE Puentes.
