Focus COPRO' 2023

Focus COPRO’ 2023

The Focus COPRO’ has been launched in 2018 as a way to create synergies between the main decision-makers attending the Marché du Film and more experienced filmmakers part of Cannes Court Métrage. This program aims to highlight young talents on an international scale and support the filmmakers in bridging the gap from short to feature. Since last year, the program has been remodeled as a more effective platform, putting networking and mentoring sessions on co-production at the center of its ambitions.

The Focus COPRO’ gathers projects from filmmakers selected in the short film sections of the Festival de Cannes – Competition 2023, Alumni, and Directors’ Fortnight 2023 – as well as project-holders from a collaboration made with ECAM Industria.

A great opportunity to discover renowned short film talents, who already have an impact on today’s cinema and will confirm their artistic vision with their first feature.

FOCUS COPRO’ PROGRAM

Private event dedicated to the project holders

The program puts networking & close interactions at the center of its ambitions by gathering key industry initiatives within an Industry Lunch, held within the Festival de Cannes.

In addition, project-holders receive guidance from established mentors through online presentations of development platforms & markets, as well as tailor-made consultancies helping them establishing their co-production strategy & targeting what could be the best match for their feature film project.
With the support of EAVE.

Thanks to collaborations, three different supports are provided in the context of the program:

  • One of the projects will benefit from a 3-week residency program provided by the Pop Up Film Residency, run by M-Films and supported by Vilnius City.
  • One of the projects is chosen to take part in Start Me Up, a five-day tailor-made program focused on production & marketing provided by ECAM Industria, held in Madrid.
  • One of the projects will benefit from tailor-made consultancies worth 1’000€, up to the filmmaker’s need (screenwriting, script analysis…), provided by Initiative Film.
