Caméra d’Or 2026: Check out all the films in the running!

As the 79th Festival de Cannes approaches, let’s take a look at the debut feature films competing for the 2026 Caméra d’Or. Each year, this prestigious award honors the best debut film from the Official Selection, the Semaine de la Critique, and the Directors’ Fortnight. Last year, Hasan Hadi won the trophy for his film The President Cake, presented in the Directors’ Fortnight.

This year, 29 films are competing for the 2026 Caméra d’Or, which will be awarded by the Jury chaired by Monia Chokri.

FESTIVAL DE CANNES

This year, 15 feature film debuts from the Festival’s Official Selection are included in the list of films competing for the Caméra d’Or. Among them:

  • 2 films Out of Competition, in the Midnight Screenings
  • 6 films in Un Certain Regard
  • 5 films in the Special Screenings (including 1 in the Family Screening)
  • 1 film in Cannes Première
  • 1 film in Cannes Classics

Quinzaine des Cinéastes

Five debut feature films are included in this year’s Directors’ Fortnight selection and are in the running for the Caméra d’Or. Check out the list:
