Steve Malone, a scientist with the Environmental Protection Agency, arrives on an assignment at Ft. Daly in Alabama with his wife Carol, their five-year old son Andy and Steve’s reballious teen-age daughter Marti, notice an eerie hush settling over the base. Once-normal people, with the full range of human emotions and behaviour, have became silent, blank-eyed emotions and behaviour, of their loved ones. And, eventually, denying the reality of their own lives.
