JANE FONDA IN FIVE ACTS
Fonda has been hated as Hanoi Jane, lusted after as Barbarella and heralded as a beacon of the women’s movement. This film goes to the heart of who she really is, a blend of deep vulnerability, magnetism and bravery – to show what has fueled her inspiring, remarkable and occasionally infuriating life. Born out of 21 hours of interviews, Fonda speaks candidly and frankly about her life and her missteps. She explores the pain of her mother’s suicide, her father’s emotional unavailability, 30 years of bulimia and three marriages to highly visible, yet very different men. The film also includes interviews with Fonda’s family and friends — including Tom Hayden, Ted Turner, Robert Redford and Lily Tomlin — as well as rare home movies and verite of Fonda’s busy life now, at 80 years old.
