QUE SEA LEY
One woman dies every week in Argentina due to unsafe clandestine abortions.
“Que Sea Ley” (“Let It Be Law”) narrates the struggle to end the history of a legal flaw. In 2018 a bill was intoduced for a free, safe and legal abortion for the seventh consecutive time, in a debate that divided the country in two opposite sides.
The film opens with the victory in the Chamber of Deputies, but before the definite vote in the Senate, it leads us to a 3000 mile-long road trip to follow everyone involved in this decisive battle, with the courageous testimonies of victims and the key strong female voices who lead this journey.
A few months later, the disheartening negative outcome in the Senate…
The battle was lost… but only for now. Because millons of young argentinian women will never give up…
