She leaves with her daughter in search of a cousin living in Louisiana, far away from the modernism and din of the city that mother and daughter renew contact with distant relatives. There, as in New-York, they find bitterness, jealousy, deep-rooted violence and this confrontation radically changes their lives, leading them to discovery of a new set of values.
