French cinema and stage actress, Jeanne Balibar studied at the National Conservatory of Dramatic Art. She was nominated Most Promising Actress at the Cesar in My Sex Life... or How I Got Into an Argument by Arnaud Desplechin, in Competition at Cannes in 1996, I Can't Stand Love (1997) directed by Laurence Ferreira Barbosa and Best Supporting Actress for Tomorrow's Another Day by Jeanne Labrune (2001). In 1998, she received the Best Actress Award at the San Sebastián International Festival for Late August, Early September by Olivier Assayas who directed her again in 2004 for Clean (Cannes Competition, 2006).
She's shot notably with Bruno Podalydès, Benoit Jacquot, Christophe Honoré, Jacques Rivette (Who Knows?, Cannes Competition 2001 and Don't Touch the Axe), but also with Raoul Ruiz, Michael Winterbottom, Mathieu Almaric, Pedro Costa, Jean-Claude Biette...
She also recorded two albums Paramour (2003) and Slalom Dame (2006).
