Natalie Portman recently made her writing and directorial debut with a short film for the anthology New York I Love You and a second short starring Lauren Bacall and Ben Gazzara.
Portman will next be seen in Brothers directed by Jim Sheridan. She was last seen in My Blueberry Nights (Cannes Competition 2007) and The Other Boleyn Girl.
Portman won a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress and earned an Academy Award nomination in the same category for her role in Closer.
Highlights from her film career include The Professional, Beautiful Girls, Heat, Star Wars Trilogy, Anywhere But Here, Cold Mountain, Garden State, Free Zone (Cannes Compétition 2005), V for Vendetta, Paris, je t'aime (Un Certain Regard 2006).
On stage, Portman starred in The Diary of Ann Frank and The Seagull.
Portman graduated from Harvard University in 2003.
