Canadian actress and director, Sarah Polley began acting at the age of four. Following Terry Gilliam's The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, she stands out for her performance in Atom Egoyan's The Sweet Hereafter (Grand Prix at the Festival de Cannes in 1997). The great variety of her compositions earns her fame and she plays notably in David Cronenberg's Existenz, Kathryn Bigelow's The Weight of Water, Hal Hartley's No Such Thing, Isabel Coixet's My Life Without Me and The Secret Life of Words, Zack Snyder's Dawn of The Dead (Official Selection 2004), and Wim Wenders' Don't Come Knocking (in Competition at the 2005 Festival de Cannes). Sarah Polley also directed several shorts before shooting her first feature Away from Her, released in France in May 2007.
