Toni COLLETTE

Born in Australia, Toni Collette studies at Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art. In 1994, she makes an indelible impression with her portrayal as "Muriel Heslop" in P.J. Hogan's Muriel's Wedding. Her very broad repertory leads Todd Yanes to cast her in Velvet Goldmine (1998), as does Peter Greenaway in 8½ Women (1999), both in Cannes' Official Selection.
She earns an Academy Award nomination for her performance in M. Night Shyamalan's The Sixth Sense (1999). In 2006, Toni Collette topbills in the Oscar-nominated Little Miss Sunshine by Jonathan Dayton, which receives the César for Best Foreign Film. In Evening, based on the homonymous novel by Susan Minot, she'll co-star alongside Vanessa Redgrave and Natasha Richardson.
