West Berlin in 1965. A young unmarried couple enjoys life away from the conventions and rules of their parents’ generation. She is a technical draughtswoman in an architect’s office. Her partner is an assistant at a renowned real estate agency. But when the young woman learns of her unplanned pregnancy, her happiness is marred. She clings to her ideals and does not want to force a marriage onto her boyfriend, who repeatedly expressed his desire to remain free and not to have any children. Instead of discussing the issue with him, she goes off on her own to look for a doctor’s practice and conceals her plans from him. Right before the end, he learns about her pregnancy through a common friend, but the abortion has already been successfully performed.
